Kim Churchill releases acoustic album 'Into the Steel'

Only eight months after releasing Detail of Distance, the prolific Australian singer-songwriter is back with a new, intimate album; Into the Steel.

This collection of songs was recorded in five days in a shack on the east coast of Australia, near one of his favorite surf spots. Acoustic and spontaneous, the record marks Kim’s desire to purely create with no strings attached.

It was produced and mixed by his old companion and sound engineer Elmo Hevey as a parting project. The string arrangements were done by Warne Livesey, responsible for Midnight Oil’s Diesel and Dust, and performed by the string quartet 'Four to the Floor'.

Alongside his summer tour, Kim will be supporting this release with a select run of shows in handpicked locations, including his hometown, Merimbula. The album, for now, will be available exclusively at these shows and can be streamed on soundcloud.
